HiFi Berry are very good
I have several HiFi Berry DAC+ and Pro XLR. These are great.
I wish that the Pro XLR had the DSP built-in. If it did I would build some room correction filters.
HiFi BerryOS has the DSP stuff built-in. That's it's major advantage over PiCorePlayer.Michael Graves

I really can't say. At present it looks like you can implement EQ curves based upon measurements taken with an instrumentation microphone.
