    piCorePlayer questions

First I'd like to say I do not have a detailed knowledge about RaspberryPi, PicorePlayer, LMS but somehow a few years ago I managed to change LMS from my Nas (QNAP TS269pro) to a Raspberry Pi 3. The reason for the change was that the plugin Spotty didn't work with my NAS, and now it works (nearly) perfect. Because I didn't know how to install PiCorePlayer and how to mount my NAS I googled an installation video. Everything works fine. But I have a few questions.

    1. Recently I discovered that whenever I add a song to an existing playlist or when I create a new playlist, the changes remain but then they disappear when I do a scan of my Medialibrary. In the settings of PiCorePlayer/LMS I see that my sharetype is CIFS. Will switching this to NFS solve the problem or isn't this very simple?

    2. My PiCorePlayer is v.3.21. I noticed that 6.0 is available. Is there an easy way to update? Should I copy my settings from the different screens? Or is it not very necessary to update? As I said I'm not very good at it and to get this thing going the first time took quite some time. I think I installed a SD-memory card but do not know now how I dit it.

    3. My LMS version is 7.9.1 but I can see that there is a newer version. I always update via the PicorePlayer button but version 7.9.3 is not installed. Is there a reason for it? am I doing something wrong? I wonder whether it is preferable / possible to update to LMS 8.0.

Can't answer your other questions, but if you open piCorePlayer in a web browser, at the very top left there's a tiny "Help" button, click that, then the "How to" tab, then the "Manually upgrade LMS" link.

    You'll see this:

1.Access piCorePlayer via sshŚsee How-to access piCoreplayer via ssh.

    2.$ cd /tmp

    3.$ wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pi.../lms-update.sh

    4.$ chmod 755 lms-update.sh

    5.$ sudo ./lms-update.sh --mm 7.9.2 -s -r -u

    Change 7.9.2 to 8.0.0 in step 5.
    Server - LMS 8.0.0 Pi4B 4GB/Flirc case/pCP 6.0.0 18K library, playlists & LMS cache on SSD (ntfs)

Don't type/copy/paste the "$", just "cd /tmp" and so on.

It started installation but then I got the message:
update in progress ... segmentation fault
    /tmp/slimupdate/lms-update.sh
    Update Failed ....exiting!

    Update:
However the update to LMS 7.9.3 is installed! Thanks for the help of you all. Later I will give it another try for 8.0.0, I read about issues others had when trying to upgrade to 8.0.

Now my only worry is how to write new playlists (or add songs). Perhaps it's my Windows permissions, I will google on that issue.
