    No sound with Hifiberry MiniAmp

    Hi guys

Just got a Hifiberry MiniAmp board, mounted it on a 3B+ with freshly installed pCP 6 and selected HiFiBerry DAC Zero/MiniAMP as output device.
Squeezelite starts, I can sync the player and you hear that short interruption when this system connects but I get no sound.

Switched the 'mmap' value between 0 and 1 but to no avail.
Since the other players are still on pCP 5, I thought this might be the reason so installed pCP 5 but with the same results.
Tried to select another HiFiBerry board but that gave error messages while booting.

    Am I missing something?
    TIA!
    R.

I did find that information, just checked and it's configured like that by itself.

Open a SSH session into the pi

    I use Putty on Windows

log in as user tc and passwd piCore

    type alsamixer

    hit the key F6

and choose your card (if it is listed, it might be the first you see)

    Adjust the volume

go to the Squeezelite page on the pCP web gui

and click on Card Control in the Audio output device settings

    adjust as required and save

    Reboot

Dont forget to check the output in LMS > Settings > Player > Audio >

I don't know if this is possible with your card, it's just a suggestion

In alsamixer: "This sound device does not have any controls."

    That's me buggered then

I can only suggest that you check that you are in "Beta" mode when making the Squeezelite set-up and work your way through the available printed suggestions for output.

Edit; Make sure the output volume is 100% in the LMS Player Settings

    Thanks for your suggestions Ronnie!

If I configure the output settings like that, squeezelite doesn't start at all.

Volume was 100% and systems are all in Beta mode.

    hi Rnee,

Ronnie's picture is for a RPi without any additional sound cards. RPi call their built-in sound card ALSA, very confusing!

If your sound card is plugged in properly, you will have additional options. For example, see last 3 lines below for justboom DAC.

    Code:
    null
    default
    plugequal
    equal
    sysdefault:CARD=ALSA
    hw:CARD=ALSA,DEV=0
    hw:CARD=ALSA,DEV=1
    hw:CARD=ALSA,DEV=2
    plughw:CARD=ALSA,DEV=0
    plughw:CARD=ALSA,DEV=1
    plughw:CARD=ALSA,DEV=2
    sysdefault:CARD=sndrpijustboomd
    hw:CARD=sndrpijustboomd,DEV=0
    plughw:CARD=sndrpijustboomd,DEV=0
BUT... it should be a one step operation: Select Audio output as HiFiBerry DAC Zero/MiniAMP, then press [ Save ].

Squeezelite not starting is usually a sign of a wrong "Audio output" selected.

    regards
    Greg

    Hi Greg

I have reseated the AMP, no difference.
Moved it to a ZeroWH: same result...
