So in the pCP web gui "Change Squeezelite Settings" as in the screen shot I posted, there should be a few lines like the one below

    Code:
    sysdefault:CARD=sndrpihifiberry
Can you post the print-out ?

When you test for sound, does the playback seem to be working in the LMS web gui; moving indicator ?

Try this (and then go to bed, 'cause I am )

On the Squeezelite Page Tab, at the top click on Card Control and tick the box to disable the onboard audio.

    Reboot.

It might be better to change the LMS Player audio output from 100% back to adjustable volume control, just incase the output is to high for the speakers.

Smart cookie - going to bed on time. I could not let it go and it got VERY late...

I found the cause, somehow, and as we say here: this makes your pants drop instantly.
The audio control was moving, squeezelite was starting and everything seemed to be normal.

I thought that it was not a bad idea to check the speaker cables going to the AMP so I removed the first speaker and this confirmed that it was connected properly.
Removed the 2nd and this one also was connected properly.
Now I just got a hunch to switch the polarity and eureka: there was sound!
Connected the 2nd and that one too sounded as expected.

So problem seemed to be solved but hold your horses: rebooting turned the system silent again.
Dis-/reconnecting the speakers solved it, and so on...

Anybody who has a clue what is going on?

no idea, but do some searching, I just found this post

    https://support.hifiberry.com/hc/en-...ers-to-Miniamp

Edit; but reversed polarity should still give sound. Maybe the board is faulty ?

Switched the 'mmap' value between 0 and 1 but to no avail.
Since the other players are still on pCP 5, I thought this might be the reason so installed pCP 5 but with the same results.
Tried to select another HiFiBerry board but that gave error messages while booting.

    Am I missing something?
    TIA!

    Thanks guys for your efforts!
The system keeps playing if I don't switch it off.
As soon as I switch it off, I have to disconnect both speakers and not only 1 wire but both wires...
