I obtained a used SB3, that will play one track and start a second but then stops playing. Restarting LMS from the terminal will get it working or pulling the power plug and reinserting but it will only play one or at most 2 tracks before quitting.I am using the Toslink connection but tried the analogue and only had one channel working.
What I have tried
Factory reset
XLinx reset
Different working power supply
Cleaning and reseating the WiFi card
I don't have any skill with a soldering iron.
Any suggestions would be welcome.

Here's a link to a thread discussing common SB3 hardware issues.

Failing capacitors certainly seems worth looking at, no experience on SB3's but I've fixed many failed devices suffering from capacitor failure very cheaply.
Good luck
