Australia - New South Wales - Sydney - By Genre - Classic Hits - 101.7 WSFM

First one on the list - but was not there last night.

Their morning show is now on, it gets a bit busy at times, while it is late afternoon here. During our daylight hours, obviously night in Oz, they play quite decent music with minimal commercials and talking.
WSFM seems to be part of the iHeart Radio group of station which may affect Tune-in listings - iHeart prefers users to go through their App.

As an example how a local LMS can help a bit.
    1. Station can be found using the iHeart plugin
    2. WSFM has HLS as well as http/AAC streams. Same quality (about 48kpbs AAC) but HLS has metadata for tracks/artists but need PlayHLSv2 plugin to get those.

Try the Radio Paradise plugin - you might like it. No commercials at all.

Indeed, I have Radio Paradise on my other favourite lists, I will look for it and add it here as well

I cannot see the "iHeart Radio" nor the "Radio Paradise" plug-in apps on the LMS server.

Am I looking in the correct place?

Do you have Logitech Media Server (LMS) running on a local computer, or is your Touch connected to mysqueezebox.com? They are not the same thing.

    Lounge - Pi2/pCP 5.0.0 > HiFiBerry DIGI+ > AudioEngine DAC1 > AVI DM5

    Apps are not plugins.

Plugins are addition to LMS which if necessary are downloaded from repositories and installed. Plugins are independent of mysqueezebox.com and so can offer much more functionality (e.g. specialist protocol support such as Spotty for Spotify). The Plugins are managed from LMS WebUI Settings / Plugins tab

    There are three main categories
    (i) LMS supplied - already but not necessarily enabled
(ii) LMS 3rd party included - plugins from 3rd parties but have been included in LMS repository
(iii) 3rd party plugin which require their own repository URL to be added to LMS.

The iHeart and PlayHLSv2 are my plugins (i.e. 3rd party) from my own repositories - so you would need to add the URL to the entries at the bottom of the LMS Settings/Plugins tab at the "Additional Repositories" label. Make sure you copy the full URL and not the text present which has ellipsis "..."

The iHeart repository URL is http://bpa-code.github.io/bpaplugins...radio-repo.xml
    The PlayHLSv2 URL is http://bpa-code.github.io/bpaplugins...ls-v2-beta.xml

So a new problem appeared last night when I was quietly listening to WSFM at a low-level volume. After about half-an-hour, the Touch went ballistic, producing a very harsh and high-level mix of a very loud buzzing sound with what almost sounded like carrier squelch noise, very, very loud, scaring the hell out of me at the time. The only way I could stop this was by physically unplugging the AC power supply. The Touch would not respond to any of the remote control commands such as reducing the volume or even trying to switch the unit off.

When I plugged the power back in after a few seconds, all was good and I could select stations again - for about 10-15 minutes then a repeat performance of this incredibly loud sound, much akin to a heavy thunderstorm with hail on a bare corrugated iron roof.

This happened five times and then I gave up and went to bed.

I have not tried it today because we had an electrical storm this afternoon and I did not want to risk frying my VDSL modem or anything else. What I did do was to check the Walmart type power supply and it seems fine, DC voltage is 4.94v and there is no sign of any AC ripple on the DC output.

Has anybody ever experienced this? This throws quite a damper on the brand-new (albeit some 8 years old) SB Touch unit.

Never heard of that before. Which firmware is your Touch running? Look under Settings/Advanced/Software update or something like that.

If bpa is still reading this post, the iHeart radio plugin is showing "incompatible with this version of LMS" My version is 8.0 - 1582191382

iHeart issues are best address on the iHeart thread. https://forums.slimdevices.com/showt...radio-stations

I haven't tested with 8.0 but there should be no reason for them to fail but there is a MaxVerison of 7.* on repo file. I'll update the repo file later todayt
