Constantly having to uninstall reinstall LMS

Problem started a few months ago. When I start the touch, I get a message that"cant find file". Check LM S on my Mac and it shows my library. So after trying to reset touch(unplugging it and waiting a few minutes) still won't play. So I rescan library and none of my files show up on LMS. Only thing that works is deleting LMS and reinstalling it. This has happened several times over the last month. Running 7.9.2 1578727069.

I am afraid I use Linux not Mac. On my setup I would right click the folder or file in question and select properties and then the permissions tab. Hope that helps
    This might help https://support.apple.com/en-ca/guid.../mchlp1203/mac

Could you please give us the exact, verbatim error message? And when
exactly are you getting this message?

Is there anything in your LMS' server.log? Anything that changed on the
computer (eg. did you update macOS)?

Thanks. Under permissions I see everything is allowed for "read/write". But I dont see anything specific for LMS.

Thanks Michael. I'll have to get the exact file next time this happens. It will usually work for several days in a row, then after a week idle , I'll need to delete and re install LMS. The message is something like" cant read etc by the Who" it then trys to play the next song with the same message. I'm running 10.15.2 Catilina. Cant remember if I was having these issues before or after upgrade. I have made no changes to anything that im aware of.

What would make you believe you'd have to re-install? Would a restart
    not be good enough?

Did you see the discussion around Catalina and some of its changed
behaviour? With external disks you sometimes have to give LMS special
permissions to access all disks. See eg.

    Well,
first I try to reset touch. No help
next I rescan library, once finished LMS show ZERO tracks loaded.
next I delete LMS and install latest version. And that seems to work for a while.

Not sure why it works for several day in a row without incident, and after several day being idle it went work.
I initially thought it only happened when I restated my computer, but the sever always restarts on boot up.

It sounds like your Music Folder loses contact with LMS for some reason.
