Online music service integration - how to test

    >> MichaelNo errors. The final line was
    > Starting precacheArtwork for 2215 albums

With scan.import=debug you'd get more information.

Just reporting that the latest v8 with Spotty & Qobuz seems to be working perfectly

    Logitech Media Server Version: 8.0.0 - 1579819365 @ Fri Jan 24 00:33:58 CET 2020

I still have auto-polling switched off but playback via LastMix/DSTM has worked perfectly through two rescans this AM.

I have however noticed something that will annoy my OCD.

I added two albums from Qobuz recently both by The Courteeners. Unfortunately they appear as by 2 different Artists - "The Courteeners" & "Courteeners". This is 100% down to Qobuz bad tagging but it led me to think.

Now that the scan does not completely remove all Online items and rescan afresh is it possible to manually edit the database to correct the issue? If I do will the changes survive a rescan?

    @Michael
    Is this possible?

    Correct.

It could certainly be done. But it'll be a hassle to maintain.

    > If I do will the changes survive a rescan?

Nope. Well... depends on how the editing would be done, of course. If it
was some mapping plugin integrated with LMS, it could work. But I'm not
    going there.

Would those albums be listed under the same artist in Qobuz?

If you search on either you get a fill list of albums however if you navigate to an album you then find its listed at album level as one or other.

After posting I realised that I could manually edit the contributor in the Album table and that it would probably survive a "new rescan" but not a "clear and rescan"

Another something for my OCD to try to cope with

This integration is now starting to look really good. Perhaps I can stop buying CDs !!

Turns out Qobuz may be correct. For their latest album The Courteeners have dropped The from their name. A taggers nightmare.

Same here, also (probably temporarily) using spotify. Thanks much. BTW, I am using max2play and simply installed the LMS 8.0 .deb file name in the alternatives source. Required a couple of reboots and scans, but seems stable and is very functional. Much progress in a short time.
    Thanks

I have been running Logitech Media Server Version: 8.0.0 - 1579819365 @ Fri Jan 24 00:33:58 CET 2020 for a few days now.

Initially I had auto-polling switched off but decided to give it another whirl a couple of days ago.

It works fine now except ......

The artist lookup and pre-cache artwork stages of the scan are still highly inefficient - the whole of the online library is dropped and re-created in these areas, meaning that a one album addition in say Qobuz results in a rescan taking 30+ minutes with the vast majority being taken up by pre-caching of artwork.

There doesn't seem to be much of an adverse affect in Default during this phase but in Material you get blank album coverart for all online library items until the scan has completed.

Not sure if this has been covered but here goes. I have a radio that is almost always connected to mysqueezebox.com not my local library. Just a day or so ago I updated to LMS version 8 and then tried to connect the radio to LMS. I get a message on the player to update LMS to the latest version and I can't connect
