    Battery peculiarities

My UE Radio started to behave oddly when charging the battery and then using the battery.

During charging, it would beep now and then for no apparent reason, and I noticed the battery icon only ever got to half full, despite long enough charging time for a full charge.

Then when I used the half-full battery, it didn’t last long.

I’d had the Radio a while, so I assumed the battery was kaput. So I got a new one. It behaves exactly the same.

That leads me to believe it must be something to do with the Radio itself.

    Can anyone help?

Experienced this with one of my radios, too. Using the power supply from one of my spare radios made it work again.

Thanks reinholdk. Sounds like the power supply could be the culprit, then. Did you get a full charge and battery working a-ok after you swapped the power supply??

Yes, the battery loads completely again and the radio plays on battery quite a few hours as expected.

Good news. Anyone have a recommendation for a replacement power/charger cable? I'm in the UK.

Ah yes, I think I've heard of them. I was wondering if there were specific recommendations.

Kidstypike, sorry, I thought you'd just typed the word Amazon, hence my sarcastic reply. Too many mince pies must have affected my eyesight. Anyway, I now see that it's a link... and the specific recommendation I wanted. Thank you!

Thanks again, Kidstypike... new charger purchased, problem solved. Battery is now charging as it should. I'm at a bit of a loss as for the explanation, though. I didn't think chargers would just sort of wear out. Wha'appen?

The defect power supply of my radio got quite warm while plugged in. Don't know if this was cause or effect of the malfunction. Maybe there was a loose connection, because it did work for some (short) time...
