I wanted to take up the topic again :-)
does anyone else have a rotary encoder configuration that works?

By the way, I'm thinking about getting a SqueezeliteESP32 in one of these speakers:
    Soundcore Motion+
    DOSS SoundBox XL
I am still looking for a possibility for a small portable garden system

To not be disappointed, I would choose a speaker, which can 'naturally' create a healthy bass.
These tiny speakers nowadays get their bass-performance from some digital signal processing in their Amps, specifically engineered for these speakers.
If you disable the internal amp and hook up an external Amp (like SqueezAmp), which does not replicate this, you get probably a bit tinny sound.
Therefor I would recommend speakers with a bit larger enclosure.

I use JBL Control1 Speakers and have SqueezeAmp mounted inside. I am very happy with the sound. Bass-Performance is not mind blowing, but good. The overall sound is very neutral and I really love it (I listen to Jazz and Rock).
This setup became my main system in my homeoffice.

If you use SqueezeliteESP as an input for the std. internal Amp of the speaker, then the above does not play a role, of course....

    Hi,

i wouldn't have replaced the internal amplifier with SqueezAmp. These speakers usually have an aux in which i used with SqueezeliteESP32 (Wrover+DAC).
i also built my SqueezAmp into a loudspeaker, but rather as a fixed solution / not Portable.

I've tried a few simple low-pass but it did not improve materially. There is probably a need for something more sophisticated, or even non-linear, I don't know, I've never looked a lot at that. As this is not a VU for any sort of precision use, I just left it like that.

You mean it's not precise? I'm so disappointed now.

Did I get the wrong recovery version?
Hi, I tried this yet another time.

This time I installed the squeezelite-esp32-master-SqueezeAmp4MBFlash-v0.5.536 completely (after a complete ERASE) and configured everything.
Then I downloaded squeezelite-esp32-master-cmake-SqueezeAmp4MBFlash-v0.0.5 and installed only the recovery on top. This seems to work well.

Now I get a little confused, the recovery screen says fw: v0.0.5-v4.0-ESP32-A1S-master-cm, mode: recovery

Did I get the wrong version here?

This is an issue with that build; I had not yet addressed a linker challenge which resulted in the same "app version" symbol to be included into the final binary.

Ok, so if it's only the text, I can continue to test with it.

I did once have it working to flash OTA with this recovery build, but all my latest tries fails with a guru meditation.

Is there anything I can do to support you in testing this build?
