I have it open so I can listen to my music in my car or at the gym. I also have the remote desktop port opened because I have to be able to remote in to my computer from the outside. But now that I have Spotify on my phone I guess I do not need the external access like I once did.
As far as the mysqueezebox.com, the players seem to be connected to it (or I can select it). When I go to "mysqueezebox.com" and log in it does show all of my players, but I do not see any evidence that the LMS is logged on. I know at one time the LMS was logged on. However how do I know that it is connected? I go to "Settings" then the "mysqueezebox.com" tab and enter my email address and password and click "apply" and there is no feedback that it worked.
As far as LMS being old, there was a reason I kept this version but I don't remember what it was. I think there was some function or feature change that I didn't like and it may have had to do with sorting on the players, but I just don't remember (or maybe I am have it wrong).

Also, I think some (not all) of those failed login attempts may come from my phone. I "Squeeze Player" and the GUI "Squeezer". The only reason I thin that is that at the same time I opened Squeezer on my phone it generated on of those failed attempts and the IP address appeared to be from Verizon which is my carrier. Still, I think I will close those ports.

Please consider using some sort of VPN to connect to your home network from outside. There are some by now which also offer connections from smartphones.

Yeah, good idea. I have enabled the VPN service in my router and installed OpenVPN on my phone and it is working fine now. Thanks for the suggestions.

LMS > Settings > MySB.com -or- LMS > Control Panel > Account
If either mentions "invalid login" then something is wrong. No mention and all is likely fine.

I went to LMS->Settings->Mysb.com and no mention of invalid login.
Ok, it looks like I should upgrade to 7.9.2.
The good news is that since I have enabled the VPN service on my router and used that for external access, I have had no more failed attempts from random IP addresses. The only errors showing up in the last 24 hours are this (not sure what caused this):
