Changing FLAC settings in custom-convert file disables MP3 in LMS ????

    Hi!

On my new Pi that runs LMS I have made a custom-convert file. The change is to make SOX handle FLAC. This eliminates stuttering sound on some streams from Tidal.
But with the custom-convert file in use, LMS is "deactivated" in LMS, and you can not change it......
Thise causes Radio streams to be silent.......

If I remove the custom_convert file MP3 plays fine and MP3 is enabled in LMS.

With the custom_convert file mp3 is deactivated and I get this error in the log, when I play a radio stream:

[19-11-14 15:39:55.3665] Slim::Networking::IO::Select::__ANON__ (131) Error: Select task failed calling Slim::Networking::Async::_async_read: open2: exec of # Non-mp3 starts here failed: No such file or directory at /usr/local/slimserver/Slim/Player/Pipeline.pm line 138.
    ; fh=Slim::Networking::Async::Socket::HTTP=GLOB(0xd6 37cd8)

The only thing I change in custom_convert file(copy of convert.conf) is putting in this line
    Name: custom-convert.jpg

Anyone that can help with this one ???

Use logging player.source to INFO to see what is wrong with the command line. It looks like the $FILE$ is not valid.

Not sure about TIDAL plugin but you may need $URL$ if type R and not $FILE$ unless it is a type I

    edit:

If is an URL - I don't think sox can handle URLs.

The SOX command seems to do what it Shall. Flac from Tidal plays fine WITHOUT stuttering. The strange thing is why MP3 gets disabled in LMS ????? I have not done anything to mp3 settings... ??

Do the logging and it will at least provide info on the command line that has been generated and to be use in the open2.
The error doesn't show that MP3 is disabled but the command line generated is invalid and cannot be executed.
The error refers to a "non MP3" but without the logging - you can't be sure what it means. I think it is a very old LMS error where nonMP3 means a format that needs to be transcoded.

    With player.source enabled log shows:

Can you post your entire custom-convert file as text - and maybe as an attachment.

LMS appears to be seeing a comment as a command so something odd about the format of the file.

Could this be another instance of LMS not liking Windows cr/lf in text files?

Also check convert.conf file as well as the following snippet is in the standard convert.conf. Has the standard convert.conf file ever been edited ? If file was edited on Windows or a line has been removed then errors can happen.

    Code:
    mp3 mp3 * *
            -

    # Non-mp3 starts here
    aif aif * *
            -
