Nope - Thats the Plattform !!!
because the used variable is named os?That $os at the end is unnecessary.
Remember
* There is no debian repository anymore
* there is no way to upload a txtfile to the wiki "Permitted file types: png, gif, jpg, jpeg, zip, opml, pdf, gz, tgz."
* so no fancy* since wiki does line wrapping - my goal was to shorten lines to be copy and pasted by someone else...Code:wget -O - http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/File:my_fancy_debian_installer.txt | bash

I'm glad you tell me to remember pretty much unrelated nonsense. It'll
certainly help many.

mea culpa " pretty much unrelated nonsense" ?
Take my code
change os and $os to plattform and $plattform
save it to the wiki
see how there are line wraps between the lines.
Now you have a code with a exact named variable but it woudnt work.
* "It'll certainly help many."
like adding a security feature with a backdoor to disable it?
Thats a real good one from your keyboard ;-)

I stand corrected: in the context of the script as outlined in https://forums.slimdevices.com/showt...l=1#post955546 the $os is indeed used. It's being created there. I didn't understand that crucial part when reading the message in the mail, rather than here in the forum. Sorry about the confusion.

Feel free to discuss this "issue" of an optional feature in a separate
thread. Now let's please get back on topic.
