    Well I don't have a clue about how to get one of those, so I'm off to watch the rugby I recorded hours ago .

    Bye the way, according to the comments on the BBC Blog, TuneIn BBC links work everywhere in the world, except in the UK

    It is one of the URLs in the pls URL - use wget/curl or play the pls URL in a player such as VLC and look at the URL that is being played.

    Sounds something like the same issue - a non UK server trying to deliver UK only URLs or some other variation.

    It is an AAC stream so will not work on all devices ... and no transcoding in this case.

    edit:
    I just tried to use it in UK from MySqueeze to SB2 and it fails - but not with a 403
    If I use it via LMS "Tune in URL" function (nothing to do with "Tunein") then it plays to the same SB2 but LMS transcodes it to FLAC for it to work.

    OP back to the fore

    So, from the xml URL:
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/imda/imda_transports.xml
    I get for BBC radio 3 low res:
    http://open.live.bbc.co.uk/mediasele...adio_three.pls
    Which in Leeds, UK (IP 80.229.1.210) resolves to:
    Code:
    [playlist]
    NumberOfEntries=2
    File1=http://bbcmedia.ic.llnwd.net/stream/bbcmedia_radio3_mf_p?s=1570113561&e=1570127961&h=91943d83bde12136ca01e6adb89a207d
    Title1=No Title
    Length1=-1
    File2=http://bbcmedia.ic.llnwd.net/stream/bbcmedia_radio3_mf_q?s=1570113561&e=1570127961&h=fbfb955209a210afb57f7022da2d5d7c
    Title2=No Title
    Length2=-1
    And, from the same xml URL, the hi res:
    http://open.live.bbc.co.uk/mediasele...adio_three.pls
    Resolves to (still in Leeds):
    Name:  Screenshot from 2019-10-03 16-55-47.png
Views: 83
Size:  21.2 KB

    So, where should I put:
    Code:
    #noslim=1
    ?

    (No improper replies please.)

    btw, what does '#noslim=1' do?

    PS a nice pi with my cup of tea would do very nicely right now thanks

    So I did a wget on the pls and that gave two files

    File1=http://bbcmedia.ic.llnwd.net/stream/bbcmedia_lc1_radio3_p?s=1570109570&e=1570123970&h= ba82082225adf914a11911112ace6b7b
    and

    File2=http://bbcmedia.ic.llnwd.net/stream/bbcmedia_lc1_radio3_q?s=1570109570&e=1570123970&h= 95ffb2342ba8005d85a7e1d9412686af
    I added #noslim=1 to the end of each one,

    example here

    and they both played from Mysb.com as favourites.

    I then tried a shortened version

    and that played.

    I did not listen very long as my Radio is not workinging prperly. The display shows it connected to my local LMS and yet it is playing from Mysb.com

    I can't be arsed to mess with it now...off to watch the Ireland match

    Use just the basic URL
    http://bbcmedia.ic.llnwd.net/stream/bbcmedia_lc1_radio3_p

    and not
    http://bbcmedia.ic.llnwd.net/stream/bbcmedia_lc1_radio3_p?s=1570109570&e=1570123970&h= ba82082225adf914a11911112ace6b7b

    The additional parameters are BBC way to control playing in some way playing - not sure what "h=" is about but
    s=1570109570&e=1570123970
    start time 1570109570 = 3 October 2019 13:32:50 GMT
    end time 1570123970 = 3 October 2019 17:32:50 GMT

    http://open.live.bbc.co.uk/mediaselector/5/select/version/2.0/mediaset/http-icy-aac-lc-a/format/pls/proto/http/transferformat/hls/vpid/bbc_radio_three.pls
    Just because BBC publishes an URL doesn't make it correct - we have plenty of examples where BBC program feeds where a Listen again URL are delivered in a feed yet fail to play.

    The above 320k AAC URL looks incorrect as there is a part of a "hls" URL in the middle - it looks like someone edited the file and cut and pasted two URLs together (comments at start seems to show this feed is hand maintained) .

    I can't test but guessing that a human created the URL and using lowres is MP3 and hi res is AAC so I'm guessing the following.

    low res http://open.live.bbc.co.uk/mediaselector/5/select/mediaset/http-icy-mp3-a/format/pls/proto/http/vpid/bbc_radio_three.pls
    hi res http://open.live.bbc.co.uk/mediaselector/5/select/mediaset/http-icy-aac-lc-a/format/pls/proto/http/vpid/bbc_radio_three.pls

    This 2015 BBC post on Radiuo 3 HD seems to confirm the AAC URL.

    Success! The above (hi res) resolves to:
    Code:
    [playlist]
    NumberOfEntries=2
    File1=http://bbcmedia.ic.llnwd.net/stream/bbcmedia_lc1_radio3_p?s=1570113986&e=1570128386&h=320c2f791da262edb378f5a827c86c35

    I added #noslim=1 to the end of each one,
    if not from the xml?

    Oh, you got there before me... Many thanks.
