The 'catchiest' songs ever?

@chill, I'm curious, how about sharing what your catchiest songs playlist has turned out like.

That's a good question. For a while I was adding every suggestion made here to a growing playlist, but as if to emphasise how 'personal' such a list is I found I was periodically reverting (mostly) to the ones I'd suggested! That's not to say that I didn't appreciate the suggestions from others - many of them were already on my 300+ track in-car playlist - but for my own personal definition of 'catchy' (instant impact and/or prominent beat and/or wide-ranging melody*) they didn't all fit the bill. The world would be a boring place if we all liked the same thing, so I'm quite comfortable that my tastes don't align perfectly with anybody else's.

So from a quick scan through this thread, my own personal list of the catchiest songs would have to include:

I must admit I got a bit behind with many of the suggestions in the last few pages of this thread - there's quite a few I've yet to seek out and listen to.

Aw Chill, if you're including Monty Python's Always Look on the Bright Side of Life then you should salt the playlist with Sit on my Face and The Lumberjack Song. Great songs to sing when stuck in traffic with the windows down.

On a less ribald note, Van the Man singing Gloria if it hasn't been mentioned yet and Train's Drops of Jupiter are also good ones to belt out on the highway.
