How about "Industrial disease" from Love over Gold? Another cracking album.

I feel like I'm straying away from the original intention, which was to find tracks that grab you by your lapels from note one and force you to sing along or start playing the dashboard drum kit, but this track has an incredibly catchy melody and an irresistible build-up, and never fails to get me whistling along.
The music in this tune reminds me very much of "Telegraph Road" from the "Love Over Gold" album.

And speaking of Mark, I think his music is just awesome. I have all Dire Straits and about all Mark's albums including the ones with Chet Atkins & Emmylou Harris.

And he puts on a right fine show!

I do agree with the comments about Mark Knopfler's music from Dire Straits and beyond - I have a good selection of his CDs, and the rest I often play on Spotify.

In fact, I reckon 'This Is Us' fits the original parameters of this thread rather well.

'Between the devil and the deep blue sea' - George Harrison

'Dream a little dream of me' - The Mamas and the Papas

Neither of them particularly 'high energy', but both very catchy.

We Five - You Were On My Mind

There are no artificial temporal bounds here. I watched The Lone Ranger the other night - they don't come any catchier than the William Tell Overture!
