USB Output Directly From LMS Hardware

Is there a way I can configure LMS to output directly from the server via it's USB port (in addition to Ethernet)? It's been done on the rather expensive Innuos Zen Mark3. I'd prefer to build my own audiophile grade computer and run LMS, but I'd prefer to bypass Ethernet - at least for my main audio room.

Sure - simply install a player, such as Squeezelite on the LMS machine and plug in your USB DAC ... good chance it will work but try before you buy.

A very good option to achieve this is using Daphile (https://www.daphile.com/), which is a custom built Linux OS aimed at specifically this usage: LMS + directly attached DAC.

Daphile looks really appealing. From the screenshots, it looks like Daphile has it's own UI. Is this merely a re-skin of LMS? Specifically, would I still be able to use the iPeng app for controlling the my listening experience?

Also, can you confirm whether I'd be able to support a Wi-Fi connected Squeezebox Boom in addition to the direct connection to the DAC on my main system?

    Thank you very much.
