The 3B+ has a Gigabit Ethernet, While it is a little limited is sufficient. The 1GB of memory is also just fine. The 4B+ is a true Gigabit implementation, it is not crippled by the USB interface, and you can get up to 4GB of ram. But as Michael said, you may need to have a fan to deal with heat in a small case......and likely you are going to be limited by the NAS anyway.

Where the 4B is a benefit it you have a USB3 SSD with your music on.....

    Thanks both.

Whats the difference in these two, apart from a meatier psu and an extra 10?

    Another thing:

I have Tidal installed on the SBT, however Spotify and Qobuz arent supported. Ive read that you can install plugins on the Pi/LMS to use these.

How are they then accessed, as in gui?

    About $9. lol

The fan and heatsinks really are not required on a 3b+. Don't get suckered into the starter kits, unless you are really happy with everything included. Shop around there are many stores selling boards and kits.

So if I didnt go for a kit I would just need:

    Pi 3b+
    Case
    Psu
    Sd card (32gb?)

    Ethernet cable (already got)

    That it?

Yes, you would add the LMS server running on your Pi.

No need to "turn off" mysqueezebox.com, you can connect to either LMS on your Pi, or mysb.com, but not both.

Default gui may explain it better . . .
