Just want someone to confirm that streaming 24/96 doesn't work with LMS and the Tidal plugin.
Can it be fixed or is it so deep in the way LMS works?

No change in the screenshot
Bit rate reported on the SBT as 44102Hz.
EDO into a iFi Audio iDSD Nano dac with current firmare which is MQA compatible.
From iFI
Magenta is the official MQA LED colour on iFi machines. When MQA is being played on legacy machines without the magenta LED option, the LED colour will be white/yellow corresponding to the 384kHz file being played.
The actual LED colour is cosmetic – once firmware v5.30 is installed, the correct MQA filter is activated during MQA playback.
nano iDSD White

I have just played a couple of "HIFI" tracks which are cd quality.
When I do this from the Tidal Desktop app the colour of the Nano led changes to green.
It's still on white

My USB DAC doesn't switch to 96 kHz, it stays on 44,1.
They do play but not 24/96, which was my question.

Will Roon handle the MQA files?
What about the hi-res files on Qobuz? Will they play in LMS/SBT?

IMHO yes, if your hardware (streamer and / or DAC) is licenced to play MQA
content. The touch is not such a device and also it is not able to unpack
MQA files.
In general IMHO MQA is crap. Just read on WikiPedia or other internet
sources why....

IMHO yes.

As @schoeppi mentions, Roon supports MQA but final results depend on your choice of endpoint and DAC. I can't recall if I tested a Touch with edo and an external MQA DAC though. I don't have Roon, but I'll try to find the time to test again with some local MQA sample files soon.
Roon requires that you turn off LMS entirely, then tell the Roon server to treat Squeezeboxes on the network as endpoints. Roon does not officially support Squeezelite or other squeezy software solutions.
Qobuz Hi-Res files play wonderfully from the Qobuz plug-in for LMS to the Squeezebox Touch. I installed edo and attached an external (non-MQA) USB DAC for best results.
Qobuz is one reason I can't recall everything about my tests of MQA support. I don't need MQA, and find it an unnecessary technical distraction.LMS: SGC microJukebox running Sonicorbiter OS
