Thumbnails sometimes not visible on SB touch

I have a weird problem. When i lokk at my music-> artis-> on my touchwith some artist i don't see any thumbnails of the albums, with other i do. It is artist dependant, when there is one thumbnail with the artist, then they are all present. It never happens that half the list has thumbnails. When i look at "albums" or "recent", i get a full list of thumbnails. Also in a browser i can see all thumbnails. I have cleaned up all false images i could find en reinstalled the server and have reset the SB touch to factory settings.
I use a Synology 116 with LMS 7.7.6 - 1452060463 installed. This is the current version that is approved by Synology.

What about the server.log? The scan might have succeeded, but the server
might encounter an issue serving the file.

Yesterday i got an upgrade to LMS 7.8, it made no difference. I also tried 7.9.1. beta, but that also didn't make a difference. Here is the scanner log:

The network issues are a result from resetting to factory standards and forgetting my password for mysqueezebox.com. I changed the Advanced->format images-setting to Folder.jpg only so the failed cover.* messages are no longer important. I do not know what file music/7a67c4f6/ etc is .

Not exactly, there is also a beta package from Synology. If you activate the beta channel in Package Manager, you will see the 7.9.1 beta package.
This package is recommended over the 7.7.6 version you're currently running.

I have now removed the 7.7 version and made a fresh install of the 7.9.1 version. It runs fine, just that now i get no thumbnails at all when i choose an artist. Is there a setting that controls this? I can also imagine it depends on the fontsize of the albumnames. I can only find a setting for remote vs screentouch display.
