Thanks for this. I'll try to do some more testing over the weekend. In response to question 2, it seems to be track navigation (skip, play, pause) that triggers the issue. And I noticed it happening when I used iPeng as well the other night, so it doesn't seem to be just the web interface causing the problem.
I did pull Michael's latest July 24 build down to see if the fixes in there would help and it (anecdotally) felt more responsive, but the problems have persisted.

Seem to be suffering from the same slow LMS response....
I'm on Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.2 - 1564003588 and LMS is dog slow in responding. Unfortunately I upgraded to an RPI4, piCorePlayer 6.01 and the new LMS all in one fell swoop. Not sure which or if it is a combo that is the culprit. I use almost no Plugins and of course everything worked fine on the old 3B+ pi and pcP 5.0.
Not sure where to start or if it is even an LMS issue. May wait until a new version of LMS comes out to see if it sorts itself out, but would appreciate any suggestions in the mean time.

I am on a rpi (raspbian 9.9). My last install (lost the number) of LMS was more then a year ago. Runs great for a year. Nothing changed but since a week (maybe bit more) LMS is getting slower and slower. Tried lots of stuff but nothing helped. Installed the latest download (logitechmediaserver_7.9.2~1564464338_all.deb), but it keeps awfull slow.

Please define "getting slower and slower". Is it playing the music
slowly? Is the startup slow? The scan? Navigation?...

navigation is slow. After hitting 'next' on my playlist it takes slightly less then a minute before music plays. If I switch radio stations after hitting 'play' itt takes more then a minute before radio plays. To start a new podcasts takes many minutes before playing starts (if at all). music/radio is also regularly pausing (without my consent).

Michael
Any way you can think of to diagnose the lock-ups in LMS that this thread is actually about? It seems to be much better since I got the July 24 build, but definitely isn't working nearly as well as it was on Debian 9.
Thanks

@bpa: I put output of wget in cli in the posting above.
I tested all day on it. I first installed a complete new system (raspbian) and LMS on top. It did not change anything, same slow navigation. Then I switched the SD-card to a new rpi and tested this one. The new rpi is navigating normally, much much faster then the old rpi. I don't know why, because the old rpi is nearly the same as the new rpi:
old rpi: rpi 3 model B
new rpi: rpi 3 model B+
*Update one day later:*
new rpi worked nice for a day and now also navigating slower and slower. I removed it and the cpu felt very hot. I switched SD again to old rpi and hooked old rpi to electric socket and internet. Now LMS is working great again, navigating is quick and instant.
*My conclusion:*
LMS is not suitable (any more) to work on a rpi. rpi is getting too hot and I presume this is causing the system to slow down one way or another.Last edited by osveda; 2019-08-02 at 13:00. Reason: problem solved
