Update: After I force quit Perl 5.18 in activity monitor, I could check the cleanup boxes and run cleanup. LMS started immediately now and Media Library Scan is running. If someone cares to shine a light on why LMS might have gotten stuck I would love to hear. Thanks, Jan

Hi,
LMS 7.9.1 as well as the latest beta keeps saying "The server is starting" and Perl 5.18 is running at almost 100% CPU. It never finishing starting up. (see screenshots)
Preference pane:

Activity Monitor:
https://d.pr/i/L7zjX5/U6zisjaPNz
To troubleshoot I've
- uninstalled and reinstalled LMS. With reboots inbetween.
- I installed the latest Perl package via OS X Developer Tools but Perl 5.18 keeps showing up in Activity Monitor, not the installed 5.2x package
- I've tried to "Delete preference files" and "Clean cache folder etc" but I can't run those options because LMS doesn't startup.
I've wondered if something might be wrong with the database but I've not been able to locate it and delete it manually.
I'm running LMS on macOS 10.13.6 on a MacMini.
My library consists of a something North of 40.000 FLAC files structured in Artist/Album folders. Organized with the Beets command line tagger.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance, Jan
