    This is what I hope to achieve in some near future.

    Fair enough.

    Exactly. Now I assume there's some code in the remote that does something
    similar to:

    while input < EXT2
    send "AV up"
    input++
    end
    // input is now EXT2

    (I left out the up/down and modulo handling for simplicity)

    I would like to change this code to:

    // input is always EXT2 to start with
    input = EXT2

    For the MyHarmony software, it would require adding a choice:

    ( ) Set input to [dropdown]
    (X) Input is [dropdown -> EXT2]
    ( ) I no not need to set an input

    That is an interesting suggestion, worth trying.

    (Background detail: The remote is controlled by my wife, who is handicapped
    and is not mentally capable of dealing with complex an/or unexpected
    situations. The Harmony already achieves 98% avoiding unexpected situations
    and I would like to reach 100%.)

    Perfectly. Thanks for your suggestions.

    Since I never complain about a Status Quo but try to make the best of the given possibiiites to suit my needs (or actaully adapt my needs ), I will leave that patching to someone else.
    In the german harmony-remote Forum some years ago, a pupil claimed to be able to patch a downloaded firmware an upload it to its Harmony 900 afterwards. The firmware is written in LUA, as you probably know already.

    Now that I know that you're using the new MyHarmony configuration environment, let me elaborate my proposal a little more:
    Since you have to change the TV's settings in dependance of the active player, you'll have to adapt the appropriate activity.
    Therefore you choose the bottom most item in "Activities".
    There you can add or remove commands of every involved device.
    Be aware the second dark band at the bottom to expand the Power Off-mode.

    (Background detail: The remote is controlled by my wife, who is handicapped
    and is not mentally capable of dealing with complex an/or unexpected
    situations. The Harmony already achieves 98% avoiding unexpected situations
    and I would like to reach 100%.)
    Then let us do our best to achieve those lumpy missing tweo percent!

    Don't mention it. I'm always glad to give a little back to the community.
