    A nice Pi case !!

Perhaps like many I find the cases available for a Pi to be a bit ugly, very plastic and I particularly dislike the ports being all on different sides.

I have just built a new Pi based player which is going to use a USB DAC using this new little black aluminium case which features a clever add on card that puts all of the ports on one face of the box (the back).

Its quite well built but lacks any feet (easily sorted)

Can you fit a HAT in there?
Is there a slot for the SD card, or do you remove the face plate?
What sort of screws are those?

    Thanks

Looks like the screws are Torx. I doubt that those of us that use a HAT audio card on our Pi's will be able to use this case.

No HAT space. USB only (or HDMI if you are that way inclined). There is access to SD card (a case variant exists where it is not accessible). Torx screws as stated.
The case comes with a sub frame and all the fitting components along with the conversion board that realigns the hdmi and power ports.
Pricey but aesthetically much nicer than a bit of plastic with wires protruding from all angles.

Thanks, totally agree about the wires. I've ordered a silver one to use as LMS server only.

Tip. Once you have assembled the sub frame try it in the case both ways around. It appears to be either / or but the faceplates sit slightly proud if you have the sub frame upside down. On first fit the Torx screws are quite hard to do up.

Post an internal photo of it without the cover if you get a chance. That's one thing that I dislike about most of these single board computers - that they don't have all of their connectors on the backplane.

It's basically an aluminium sleeve with 2 end plates, so no cover as such.
