I just got myself recently a vintage turntable (Dual 731Q) and was wondering how to integrate it into my squeezebox setup, so that I could listen to my large vinyl collection everywhere in my home. Could not find anything in this forum or elsewhere, so I just started to build my own solution with a Raspberry Pi, a Behringer UCA222 and a pre-amp. I use Darkice and Icecast to transcode on-the-fly in feed the signal as a Internet Radio Stream into my Squeezeboxes.
Raspberry, Behringer and pre-amp are small enough to hide everything behind the shelf, so that listeners only see the turntable.
It absolutely rocks! I cant tell the difference between a 320kbps MP3, a 320kbps Deezer stream and my vinyl 320kbps stream. The turntable sounds probably a little less analytic, but warmer. Anyhow, I love to browse through my record collection, select a record, unpack it, flip it and then listen to the little crackling sound when the stylus finds the track. And all this wirelessly integrated into my squeezebox setup.

Does the pre-amp do the RIAA de-emphasis?

Cool implementation, OP!
Yes, or you can use the version of the Behringer ADC that is made for phono:

You could also use the Behringer UCA202 which is identical in spec to the 222 but £10-15 cheaper.
What is the difference?

I already have all of the physical components used in this solution so would also be interested in a howto on the Pi setup.VB2.4 storage QNAP TS419p (NFS)

Streaming Vinyl to Squeezebox
I am glad to see that so many like my solution. You can find some more information here.

I am currently preparing a download of the Raspberry image with automatic setup. Should be available in 1 or 2 weeks.

I am interested. Please post when you have the Pi image.
As mentioned I have all the physical components and I use a Behringer UCA202 hoked up to a tape loop to digitise my vinyl to FLAC using a Windows laptop and some software called VinylStudio.
You got me thinking and I am going to try installing http://www.streamwhatyouhear.com/ on said laptop. It does what your solution does and converts whatever hits the sound card into an MP3 or WAV/PCM stream that you can tune in to with LMS. I have used it recently in an experimental mode to stream Amazon Music to LMS.
I am thinking I can probably digitise my vinyl and stream it at the same time.VB2.4 storage QNAP TS419p (NFS)
