I have been using the url at the beginning of this thread: https://stream-mz.planetradio.co.uk/scalahigh.aac

Reverted to my previous working version of 8.0.0-1592130094 which is dated 17th June and everything is back to normal streaming at 127kbps CBR, AAC. I can get a Tunein url to work but that is a dismal 48kb stream.

    Something broken in nightlies?
scalahigh URL plays OK for me on a Touch with latest LMS from 12th Aug

    edit:
The timestamp 1597033155 is 10th August.

    edit 2:

the 12th August builds have timestamp 1597263993

The Touch, Radio and Transporter are able to transcode mpeg4 streams which the SB3 and Boom cannot. My Radio and Transporter work fine with https://planetradio.co.uk/scala-radio/ but the Boom and SB3's do not. This makes me wonder if something to do with transcoding was altered in the latest nightlies.

Try putting in the above url and see how you get on. There is a bug in 1597263993 that is not there in 1592130094

Maybe this change? "PR #367 - Improved parsing of HTTP header allows for new features (eg. AAC transcoding) and fixes some issues with streaming remote files. Thanks a lot philippe_44!"

Big change in LMS on 10th Aug and it was announced on another thread that problems might arise.

Just to clarify. Scala is a http/AAC stream and not a MPEG4 stream. MPEG4 is a transport which can contain AAC. HTTP/AAC stream uses ADTS as transport.

The changes mainly affected MP4 audio types and not AAC audio type - but that doesn't mean there isn't some side effect as some code is common.

I have just tested LMS 12th August (i.e. with big code change) and scala URL plays on a SBR (i.e. treated same as SB3 and Boom) with transcoding.

Heuer, can you enable logging for player.source and set to INFO to see what is happening with your transcoding.
