    Thank you for the answer,

I have one question - it requires opening one port and that only for triggering the plugin on the music server to fetch a new command from the Roomskills server using a secure protocol.

Mmh, I would be interested to understand where you see the problem?

    Regards

Much too complicated to setup and configure (compared to MyMedia skill)

    While on the topic...

Are there plugins to control LMS using OSC?

But discussions would better fit in a different thread - since this is about using Amazon Alexa devices as LMS players.

Back on-topic, the certified MediaServer skill now supports streaming audio to Echo devices natively.

I have changed the connection and there are no open ports necessary anymore, just connect your Roomskills account with the plugin.

Trying to stream to Alexa device

I've recently decided to move to LMS for my music distribution in the home. Works great to my PiCorePlayer and Kodi with XSqueeze in a couple rooms.

We like having music on around the house as we're doing things throughout the day, and the living room and office where the current systems live are too far from the kitchen to enjoy the music while we're getting meals ready, for instance. There's an Alexa device in there that I figured I could just add the stream to, but apparently their ecosystem is a bit locked down for that. I'm interested in the method that Paul Webster described, as it seems pretty straightforward to setup. My account isn't old enough to send PM's to people, but I'm trying to get the code for the method you described.

I realize that philchillbill has created an Alexa skill that does it already, but I'm not interested in paying a monthly subscription for the ability to listen to my own music that is sitting on a box in my house working for free on several devices already. I run a server for various tasks in the house already, so even the DNS hack that was suggested above could work, and I could easily enough WireShark an address to use for that, but I'd prefer something less hacky than that.

Thanks in advance for your assistance
