I just wanted to say a huge thanks to the dev's who put in so much time and effort into this platform.
My 6 year old has been learning 'scratch' programming, so I decided yesterday to give him something harder and start working with some hardware.
The two of us sat down with a pi zero, GPIO dac, cheap AMP board, relays and some old speakers and he wired them all up - we even installed them into a metal case to go in his room. He loaded up PiCorePlayer onto the SD card and booted it all up. In the space of a couple of hours we had a fully functioning squeezebox setup for his room. I even gave him a spare joggler to control it all. He is a very very proud/excited 6 year old.
The fact this community has the platform to a level which is quite literally childs play is remarkable, especially given that included a hardware build. You guys are awesome.

Sure - nobody can expect a 6 year old to read up on him/her self, and on this technical level ... guidance is accepted.
Thumbs up on writing about the build. I look forward to read about it.

Finally wrote up the basics here (2 1/2 years on!) as I repeated it with the other boy now he's 6 (and he loved it just as much)
