LMS 7.9.2 does not start on Readynas ultra pro 4

    Hi,
I have just installed LMs 7.9.2 (logitechmediaserver-7.9.2-1547382380-i386-readynas.bin) on Readynas ultra 4 with Radiator 4.2.31. Previously LMS 7.9.1 worked fine.

However, it does not want to start. Readynas frontview says it did, but it is not running (the Setting page does not open, ipeng does not see the server ...). I basically removed the 7.9.1 and performed the update. It is visible as an add on.
    anything obvious I am missing?

    Many Thanks,
    Ludi

Not sure about you but I always have to run this file "lms_1.0.9_all.deb" after installing a LMS update to enable LMS to run on my ancient Readynas.

    Thanks, I will try.
However 7.9.1 has been running without it.

I have tried it but I get message that the update is not valid for this architecture.

    Anyone can help?

I have tried starting it manually by ssh to the box and I get a segmentation fault.

I removed the previous version( 7.9.1) before isntalling this one. I assume its clean and there is no offending plugin as there is no /var/lib directory.

Have you been inquiring over at the Netgear forums?

Folks over there might be able to help...

I don't think many active members over here use the ReadyNAS anymore.

Did you check your server.log file
(/c/.squeezeboxserver/log/server.log)? If that's empty, you could edit
/etc/default/squeezeboxserver, add "--d_startup" to the "SLIMOPTIONS"
and try again. This might give you more information about what is going
on if it fails at startup.

    Thanks Michael.
the option did not work in the "SLIMOPTIONS" but it did work appended to the command.

Is there anything here that screams at you?

    Code:
    NAS-C0-B0-C8:/etc/default# /usr/sbin/squeezeboxserver --d_startup
    Got @INC containing:

LMS 7.9.2 does not start onReadynas ultra pro 4

    > Is there anything here that screams at you?

No. "Unfortunately" that startup seems to be working perfectly fine.

    > dirsFor: Didn't find a match request: [scprefs]
    > Segmentation fault

Aren't there any timestamps in your log file? Would be interesting to
unerstand whether that segfault happens right after (or during) startup,
or whether it's delayed by a bit.

Please add "--debug server.plugins, server" to the startup options and
see whether that gives you anything. Please upload the full server.log
    file to https://www.dropbox.com/request/T3RctyzGgNg0oFDubq6a

You could try updating the Ultra 4 to the latest version of Radiator - 6.9.4 - although you will need to backup all your data before doing so. Details of how to do it are on the Netgear forum; an upgrade not officially supported but condoned. The file lms_1.0.9_all.deb is used to put the ReadyNAS icon into the UI. Again details on the ReadyNAS forum. Worth doing as it gives your ReadyNAS a new lease of life as it will be running on the latest version of Radiator and you will get all updates. I did it a few weeks ago and it is bullet proof and runs 7.9.2 perfectly:
