    Also even though the credentials are missing my Spotify app still sees the squeezebox players and if I try to play to one of them it appears as though Spotify is playing (time bar moves in the app) but it is not.

    Crap, I should make a backup before removing the file...

    > Why would this occur?

    I don't know, really. I trigger this action when the JSON fails to
    parse. That file should not be modified once you're authenticated.
    Therefore even corruption due to an un-clean shutdown seems unlikely.

    I don't know if this is related but the credentials issue "seems" to occur after using an Amazon Echo device to play music from Spotify via Alexa.

    now it happened again. The cache folder ( /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/spotty ) now only contains the subfolder "__AUTHENTICATE__". The is no other subfolder and now credentials.json any more. It must have happened 3:51 last night, judging from the server log entry I pasted below. Before that, I had many more "DaemonManager" messages as seen below, every 10 to 20 Minutes. Everything else still works on my server (nightly from March 11th right now).

    What can I do?

    Best, Tole

    Hi Michael,

    just to report back on that again (bevor I upgrade to 2.8): the problem went away, when I deselected all options under "Erweiterte Einstellungen".

    Reviewed that code, and yes, it's not very verbose... or rather stupidly
    silent. It has some limitations as to what it considers a candidate to
    be uploaded. Would you have a large number of playlists? Many different
    folders?

    You could enable logging for spotty=INFO in LMS, then run the import,
    and see whether server.log has any information about the process.

    Thanks Michael. I did that. There was no sign of anything in the server.log running the utility. I do have a very large number of folders and playlists, so it may very well be that there is something there that it cannot handle.

    Could you please download this modified version:

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/mw79k0u17a...files.zip?dl=0

    Extract and run it. Run without any parameter it should give you the
    names of potential files it would analyze. Can you check the size of
    those files? And try to run the script with the server parameter?

    Thanks for the trying Michael! I dowloaded the modified version. When running it I got the following:

    Error: Can't locate perl514.dll
    Make sure the ActivePerl bin directory is in your PATH
    PATH=C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\iCLS Client\;C:\Program Files\Intel\iCLS Client\;C:\WINDOWS\system32;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\ System32\Wbem;C:\WINDOWS\System32\WindowsPowerShel l\v1.0\;C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Intel(R) Management Engine Components\DAL;C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel(R) Management Engine Components\DAL;C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Intel(R) Management Engine Components\IPT;C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel(R) Management Engine Components\IPT;C:\WINDOWS\System32\OpenSSH\;C:\Use rs\micke\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WindowsApps;

    I downloaded and installed ActivePerl, but still got the same, even though the Perl directory was not in the PATH. Then I downloaded specifically the perl514.dll file which did not come with the ActivePerl installation. Then after running it again I got the following:

    C:\tmp>findSpotifyFolderFiles.exe
    Perl lib version (5.14.1) doesn't match executable 'findSpotifyFolderFiles.exe' version (v5.14.2) at /<C:\tmp\findSpotifyFolderFiles.exe>Config.pm line 60.
    BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /<C:\tmp\findSpotifyFolderFiles.exe>Errno.pm line 8.
    BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /<C:\tmp\findSpotifyFolderFiles.exe>File/Slurp.pm line 12.
    BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at findSpotifyFolderFiles.pl line 5.

    The strange thing is that looking at the properties of the dll file it says version 5.14.2. So got a bit stuck here again.

    Just tried and the Perl error is gone The result when running it with no arguments is a plain 'Done.', not sure if I should expect anything more verbose. Then I run with the IP:PORT for the LMS server running Spotty. I then got no output, no 'Done.' I mean. Then looking into the server.log (spotty logging set to Info level) does not show anything that I can connect to running this, only the regular getMetaDataFor entries as shown below.

    [19-10-05 11:18:27.6440] Plugins::Spotty::ProtocolHandler::getMetadataFor (169) Returning metadata cached in song object for spotify://track:4kP69y3GKHi9tXckfgp4bK
    [19-10-05 11:18:27.6454] Plugins::Spotty::ProtocolHandler::getMetadataFor (169) Returning metadata cached in song object for spotify://track:4kP69y3GKHi9tXckfgp4bK
    [19-10-05 11:18:28.7005] Plugins::Spotty::ProtocolHandler::getMetadataFor (169) Returning metadata cached in song object for spotify://track:4kP69y3GKHi9tXckfgp4bK
    [19-10-05 11:18:28.7011] Plugins::Spotty::ProtocolHandler::getMetadataFor (169) Returning metadata cached in song object for spotify://track:4kP69y3GKHi9tXckfgp4bK

    So went on to install Spotify on the server running LMS and Spotty. Then running the latest file you put in dropbox on the server. I got the exact same results, 'Done.' when running without args, and nothing when running with IP:PORT. The log showing nothing apart from the getMetaDataFor entries again.
