I am also searching for a way to change the icons for the radio stations in my favorites.
Can anyone help me on this please?
Will this also work for the icons in jivelite?

Is there a way to display the live stream info & icon to a radio stream stored under favorites? For example:

The station https://jbradio2.ca/

has a great flac stream at

http://stream.jbradio2.ca:8888/flac

but this doesn't automatically pick up and display metadata, which is available from:

https://jbradio2.com/web/web/playing.php?

It would be great to be able to display this info on the fly, like triode/bpa do for the BBC plugin. Is this possible by clever editing of the favorites file?

While there are a few standard and metadata can be embedded in the stream, metadata is often outside the stream to "encourage" listeners to play the web site and see ads etc. Does any other player show the metadata (e.g VLC)

Favorites does nothing except bookmark the URL. Unless the metadata is in the stream - it won't be displayed - no "option" in Favorites will change that.

BBCiplayer plugin is specially developed to display BBC metadata data made available on different non playing URLs. You may be mixing up URL parameters with Favorites as BBCiPlayer uses special URL parameters to assist with metadata.

There are a few other plugin which do similar for other stations (e.g. FIP) - obtain metadata from non stream source.

This link does give the meta data




but I use the station as a TuneIn favourite and that gives the Album art as well.

I have the same issue.
Have station which shows metadata when added as LMS favourite, but does not show album art.
Same stream going through TuneIn has album art as well.

Is it maybe player issue or LMS issue or maybe tunein plugin does it?

Are you talking JB-Radio2 ?

They have dropped the flac stream and now offer just the mp3 stream with album art from tune in, the situation is the same as I posted before.

Give track info with no art.

The replacement for the flac stream

Gives neither artwork or Track info.

But playing the same url in Foobar2000 one gets the track and artist info.

Perhaps Mr Webster ("a nice man, a very nice man!") could knock up a plugin for just the meta-data

No, not JB-radio2. Totally different radio stream exhibiting the same behavior.
That is if stream is added directly to LMS favorites then i can see title/author being displayed, but NOT album art.
If the same goes through tunein then album picture is visible.

I am wondering if this is not some obscure LMS issue whereby songinfo plugin (this is what i guess is getting all extra data) is somehow not able to work on directly on favorites. There i have never ever seen album art changing...

P.S. Sure answer might be even easier - tunein plugin might be doing all album art lookup...

I have not looked at the jb-radio2 streams to see what is in there ... but the Now Playing info on their web page comes from
https://jbradio2.com/web/web/playing.php
Parsing the response could be done ... but parsing presentational HTML is liable to break when they tweak their web page layout etc (the others that I do have some sort of API that returns JSON or XML).

If there is no other alternative then ... maybe.

First thing is to 100% confirm which station(s) is/are of concern and what they really put in their stream data.
