    NAS installation

    Hi people.

I'm a know nothing newbie with a question.

I have been using for several years a Vortexbox server with LMS installed (not by me). It's worked without fault and I can use my iPhone/iPad to choose and browse my music and it has gapless playback. Excellent.

I have now bought a Zappiti server to hold all of my music and movies. It works fantastically for movies and it does have a built in audio player also, however, the music player interface is quite poor. Also, it has no gapless playback and indeed often misses the first second of so of the next track when going from one to the other. The question therefore is - is it possible to install LMS on my new server.

Pertinent facts about it are it appears to Run: Windows home server 2011
    Uses RAID: 0, 1, 5 and JBOD (hardware based-RAID)

The music itself is currently played back using their Zappiti HDR which seems to run on Android 6.0.1

    Any advise is most welcome.

    Thanks everyone.

If it's indeed WHS 2011 (which seems rather old to me...), then
technically this should work. But you better ask Zappiti.

    Thanks for the note.

Zappiti only state that they don't install it but otherwise have no interest.

Looked at it some, and the Windows is probably a virtual machine used for the Krika remote network monitoring that's included in the box (http://www.get-krika.com/products/). Personally I'd advise against fooling around with it. The easiest way of achieving LMS would IMO be a raspberry Pi with either piCorePlayer or Max2Play, which can easily connect to the music you share from the Zappiti.
