Raspberry Pi + DigiOne Player+ Portable HDD?

Any problem powering a portable HDD using the USB cable from a Raspberry DigiOne Player, or do I need to use a HDD with a separate wallwart?

Should/most likely be OK, you can check the limits here (scroll down the page)

I have used Samsung M3 and Crucial SSD without a problem, it partial depends on whether the usb is being used for any other service.
