    Adding Favorites in MySqueezebox.com

Was doing a little editing and tidying up of my FAVORITEs in MySB, via the web UI (I keep all my radio streams in MySB as they are then available across all devices and all LMS installations).

Deletions and re-orderings showed up immediately on LMS and all devices via FAVORITES>ON MYSQUEEZEBOX>COM .

However, trying to add a new FAVORITE by filling in the TITLE box, copy-pasting the URL from a BBC iPlayer radio stream I'm playing via LMS and hitting ADD is doing nothing. The ADD button colors up and flashes when I hit it, but no new FAVORITE is added to the list.

I haven't edited or added anything to the list for a good while - so I'm probably just forgetting something simple. Any ideas out there?

What is the iPlayer URL you are trying to add ? Unless it is a http MP3 (possibly R3 http AAC) stream - mysqueeezebox will test it and probably consider it invalid.

    Hi.

This is what I'm trying to add:

    iplayer://live?hls=http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/manifesto/audio/simulcast/hls/nonuk/sbr_low/ak/bbc_radio_three.m3u8&dash=http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/manifesto/audio/simulcast/dash/nonuk/dash_low/ak/bbc_radio_three.mpd&icon=http://radio-service-information.api.bbci.co.uk/logos/bbc_radio_three/600x600.png&radiovis=fm/ce1/c203/09100&onair=bbc_radio_three

(the reason being really that I am trying to get track info displayed)

But I do already have saved there (and working fine, day after day; though it doesn;t show track info..):

    iplayer://live?hls=http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/manifesto/audio/simulcast/hls/nonuk/sbr_low/ak/bbc_radio_three.m3u8&icon=http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/imda/logos/radio3_logomobile1-1.png&radiovis=fm/ce1/c203/09100

iplayer:// URLs are LMS plugin specific (they are a trick to do extra processing) - mysqueezebox.com will consider them invalid but they can be LMS Favorites

When you say you add them to mysqueezebox.com - how do you do this ? from a browser and logged into mysqueezbox.com ?

Yes, I'm trying to do an addition logged into MySB.com via Firefox (tried it in Chrome too, just in case...).

But, just to add, the second of the Favorites I mentioned above I already have stored in MySB favorites. Of course, if my players are connected directly to MySB it won't *play*, not being an MP3. BUT, MySB *will store* AAC streams as FAVORITES. So, in LMS, when I go to FAVORITES in LMS (or its Players), my first option is a sub-menu of FAVORITES> ON MYSB.COM. That list has MP3 steams + AAC streams: LMS will run either; MYSB, if accessed directly, will only run MP3.

A long time and so it may have changed - mysb.com used to "test" an URL before storing it.

iplayer:// are not AAC streams - they are special URLs. They do not return a mime type for AAC.

Odd though that I have had these three iPlayer streams stored in MySB FAVORITES for a long time, and they play fine when I access that MySB list from LMS or an attached player. They also appear in the list if I connect a player to MySB - though of course they won't actually play:

Anyway, all I am really trying to do is get a stream saved in MySB FAVORITES to show program info when I play it from LMS (which those streams above don;t do for some reason). Any other way of doing that?

The URls just contain information for the BBCiPlayer plugin. Your iplayer URLs have the HLS stream URL, and URL for an icon (which is out of date) and a RadioVis URL which has been redundant for aboput 2 years (when did you save these URLs ?) . The plugin obtain "Now playing" info from the OnAir service - all you have to is look at the URL in the menu.opml file of ther BBCiPlayer plugin.

so I think for Radio three you should be using
    Code:
    iplayer://live?hls=http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/manifesto/audio/simulcast/hls/nonuk/sbr_low/ak/bbc_radio_three.m3u8&icon=http://radio-service-information.api.bbci.co.uk/logos/bbc_radio_three/600x600.png&onair=bbc_radio_three
The info will only be display if the Plugin setting are also setup to display track info.

Thanks. The MySB saved iPlayer feeds (which play perfectly, though only display a generic R3 image) are probably a year or so old. If it ain't broke.....

I'm still puzzled why I was able to save them and for MySB to retain them, even though I now cannot get MySB to save any newer iPlayer streams. [And, just to be clear, I know that MySB can't play these streams: but it's a handy method of having identical favorite streams available across multiple LMS installations].

There are other ways to share - just have a http accessible opml file on local system or a cloud based file share service and save the URL for this file as a favorite in each LMS - this is what mysb does except using your own service means the OPML file will not be "checked"

You can even "wget" the mysb OPML file as a starting point.
