I might have not dug deeply enough to find the use of item_id. But as
you pointed out, it must be used at some point. But what I found is that
if the artist_id was missing and you weren't using a persistent
connection (cometd), then the request would be rejected early. The
item_id might be evaluated further down the code, once LMS has got
    information about the artist.

    > that artist_id is required and that the problem lies with the fact that

The problem lies in an incomplete documentation. Or sparse error
logging. As you like. But hey, feel free to add some :-).
So, should I add code in Matrial to ensure artist_id is in browsonlineartist requests, or is it up to LMS to add these in the SlimBrowse response (which would be consistent with other SlimBrowse calls)??

I'm fine with either, I just don't want to add work-arounds if not required - and i assume other clients, if not using persistent connections, would have similar issues.
Material debug: 1. Launch via http: //SERVER:9000/material/?debug=json (Use http: //SERVER:9000/material/?debug=json,cometd to also see update messages, e.g. play queue) 2. Open browser's developer tools 3. Open console tab in developer tools 4. REQ/RESP messages sent to/from LMS will be logged here.

    Question

    Hi Craig,

    Not sure if this has been asked before;

Using MS on my android phone, is it possible to cast cover art to my smart TV (TV is on same network)?

    Thanks

Why not open a web browser on your TV and enter IP address of your LMS server e.g. 192.168.1.100:9000/Material.

Should look something like this -

For no other reason than being inquisitive I tried this. I managed to get the default LMS to display but not managed to get material to work. I just got a blank grey screen.

    Firefox on a Panasonic TV.

Not too disappointed as I'm happy with the display on my mobile device

Depends on TV browser capability. To work with Material it needs to be HTML5 capable. Older TVs wonĺt be.

You might be able to side load the Amazon Silk Browser which is html5 capable to that era TV but only might. I cannot say for sure.

    Hi,

On my ipad, I can not get rid off the grey box that shows 1.12. When I switch to landscape the box still shows. Also when pressing the info button. I think it is a bug. Would be great if this could be fixed.

That's the time-slider tooltip, it should auto-hide but sometimes gets stuck on mobile. I think if you just touch somewhere on the position slider it should hide. For the next release I've added a 2 second timeout to force it to hide.
