    Napster's status

Hi - I was trying to understand Napster's situation wrt SB devices. I understand that Napster does not work anymore with mysb.com and must use LMS. It seems as well that it only works with Radio & Touch. Is this for stream protection reasons where the plain decoded audio shall only be seen inside a "protected" device? I vaguely remember some discussion around this as I was quickly reading their policy and the limitations related to audio but I'm not really sure if it was and is still correct. My motivation is that a family member is re-activating his SB devices but he has a bit of everything and he is a Napster long-term customer, so if there was a possibility to write a new plugin that would allow Napster to work with (e.g.) Booms, I'd think about doing that.

Why do you think so? I might be wrong (I'm sorry, my memory is
aging...), but I don't remember any such limitation. One of the last
comments from my end I found are here:

That OTOH I would confirm. It's a limitation of the AAC files they're
sending. We cannot transcode them, even if using LMS. Again: IIRC.

Oh... did they switch to https streaming, which would render it useless
on mysb.com? That could certainly be :-(.

Welcome to the club but we like to say itĺs because we do a lot of different things ...
So, on a serious note,do you know if the lack of possibility to transcode is due to their encryption and agent running inside touch/radio or is this something else where there could be a workaround? Would that be worth asking them?
