Roland0 - have you looked at supporting player selection since you wrote this back in 2018?

I was just directed to this plugin and was looking to see if there had been any updates.

If not, I may look to see if there's anything that can be reused from gwendesign's announcement script from here https://www.gwendesign.com/slimserve...m#announcement

    Thanks.

Just released a new version, which includes player selection. Not really well tested, since I run a single player setup atm.

should be up again - the hosting provider had a couple of hours downtime for some infra sw updates.

Couldn't get it to direct to a particular player. Though it did go to a different player than the other day.

FYI, what I do is grab the MAC address of the player from the Squeezebox Settings Info panel, and then replace all the ":" with %3A

    So, player 00:04:20:1e:49:e6 becomes:
    http://<IP ADDRESS>:9002/plugins/LMSannounce/js.html?cmd=announceFile&file=%2Fvolume1%2FMusic%2 Fdoorbell.mp3&playerid=00%3A04%3A20%3A1e%3A49%3Ae6

    Am I calling it correctly?

    Any issues with upper/lower case?

    Any logfiles I can check?

    Thanks.

    Looks ok at first glance.

Switch logging to debug in WebUI>Settings>Advanced>Logging>plugin.lmsannounce and check server.log for Plugins::LMSannounce::Plugin messages, esp the following:
    Code:
    handleJSONP cmd= pid=
    handleJSONP targetClient=
player specified () not found, falling back to

    Could this be the problem?

Could be - but I can't trace the plugin script as to why it's trying to hit a TTS playlist when I've called it with a filename ie. cmd=announceFile

The file I specify "announceFile called: file=/volume1/Music/doorbell.mp3" exists and plays.
