Hi, just an update: I specifically let the spotty helper app through the firewall for all ports and magically Spotify COnnect has started to work for all clients on the local network. In hindsight, it was the obvious thing.

Hi,

today the triode plugin stopped working. So I installed the new spotty plugin to get spotify back to work.

But unfortunately the helper app won't run:

I think it's the libc which is outdated, not the CPU. Any way to update the system? Or temporarily run a different Linux version from a live CD to check compatibility with those spotty binaries?

Or if you're adventurous: you could try to build it yourself. You'd need to install rust (https://rustup.rs), then clone https://github.com/michaelherger/spotty and build it ("cargo build")

Thank you! As I'm stuck with LMS 7.9.0 (7.9.1 won't start) I think it is better to migrate my LMS to a new RPi3 with recent libc. I don't dare to touch my system as I'm pretty sure it will impact some other services.

Would be interesting to compare eg. scanning performance, or web UI
rendering on the two machines. I do run my office LMS on a Pi3B+ myself.
Spotty should work there ;-).

I don’t think the Athlon XP is 64 bits. Shouldn’t you use the 32 bits version of the helper?

I seem to recall that in the fairly recent past there was an issue with the "muslhf" helper when used on the Raspberry Pi. This was resolved by changing to the "hf" helper. I noticed today that my touch and one of my radios were not listed as connect devices so I tried changing back to the "muslhf" helper. This worked and the missing devices reappeared. Has something changed to allow this helper to work again?

these are some symptoms:

1) often playback stops when one song completes. of course, there are more in the playlist. i have to kick start it.
2) several times, i could hear a split-second blip of the next song and then, nothing.
3) earlier in the day, a restart of LMS made this behavior go away. now it is back.
4) i am running pCP v3.5.0 and LMS 7.9.2

only thing i can think to try now is complete re-flash and then,
back to max2play i suppose.
please offer some advise here since i really want to stick with pCP.
i've pretty much convinced myself that the sound out of Allo DigiOne is better here...

No, I don't think so. The situation just is a bit more complicated. It
depends on the Pi model you're using (1/zero vs. later), and the OS and
libc version etc.
