    [Announce] Spotty 2.3.0 - SpotifyConnect for your Squeezebox

    Enable debug logging for plugin.extensions and server.plugins, then try
    again. Once you've restarted, upload your server.log.zip.

    plugin.spotty=debug - but I think you did this before, didn't you? It
    would be very verbose when doing API calls, like eg. logging all data
    received etc. But as long as it's hanging, there wouldn't be much :-)

    No, we'd never put the logging to 'debug' level yet.

    I've done that now.
    I set logging for Spotty to debug, and reproduced the issue just now using the classic squeezebox which is now hanging with the "Spotty" and circular visal...

    Should I private message you the log file (it has accesstoken info, etc) or post it here.

    Also, I can see already that after the getTokenResponse call in the log, it seems to get accesstoken and then hangs with the log just showing the following (adding another "Initializing Spotty Connect Helper daemons..." line every so often.).. thoughts?

    [18-06-13 14:57:02.6012] Plugins::Spotty::API::_gotTokenResponse (184) Caching for 3600 seconds.

    FYI, almost 2 hours later, those same lines keep appearing in log file:
    <snip?
    [18-06-13 16:35:53.0010] Plugins::Spotty::Connect:aemonManager::initHelpers (70) Initializing Spotty Connect helper daemons...

    [18-06-13 16:40:53.0013] Plugins::Spotty::Connect:aemonManager::initHelpers (70) Initializing Spotty Connect helper daemons...

    If you want, I can also do the workaround using the on/off button in the web control page and send you the log after doing that.

    Thanks

    That's just the Connect helper daemon's watchdog, checking every minute
    whether the daemon was still alive.

    I've uploaded to log files to your dropbox.
    Please look at the entries from June 13, 2018.
    The first log file shows the log entries up to the "hang".
    The second log file shows the entries up to and after the hang, when I work around the "hang" by turning the power to the squeezebox classic off and on again using the web control page and then access a playlist and play a song.

    Thanks,
    Dan

    Unfortunately I don't see anything particular in there. Not even based
    on the timestamps I can figure out where there would have been a big gap.

    Just in case: are you using any other 3rd party plugins? Not that I'm
    aware of known incompatibilities. But just in case: disable them all.

    And then I still believe there's something wrong with your system
    overall. I'm not sure whether it's network related or what else. But
    that warning/error you get logged every few seconds certainly is a sign
    of something not working as expected. Unfortunately it's a rather
    generic message. Don't know where it's coming from.

    Did you try using a Spotify application on your computer or some mobile
    device?
