What do the forums thinks is a decent sub .
I think electronics in my old REL Stadium III is on its last leg . It gets hot and emits random subsonic noise .
Soo if i cant find a repair shop I have to consider a new sub .
I have not shopped for a sub for 15years so suggestions are welcome.
Tigh controlled musical bass is preferred over maximum thunder in movies

I am a big fan of the internet direct manufacturers such as SVS and HSU Research. I myself own a 12 inch HSU that sounds fantastic for both music as well as home theater but I am not sure if you will be able to get them in Sweden. I have heard a few different SVS models and they are also very good. I see that Amazon UK sells them so perhaps you will be able to find a vendor that can ship to Sweden.

REL and SVS are aviable in Sweden .
I could go to REL directly but the company restructured and shift owners 2 times since thier original series of subs so it’s really not the same but new REL could be amazing tooI can go and listen to REL in a nearby town.
SVS subs is interesting due to very flexible eq and setup options boundary filters et al. One of thier closed box subs ?
I have room eq already in my Meridian processor.
Are specialist sub mfg the way to go ?
All speaker brands offers subs but many just seems decor matched to thier 5.1 offerings ?
Contradict me with a serious sub done by a normal speaker brand
I tested a velodyne 15 years ago did not like that then ? Have they improved.--------------------------------------------------------------------

Do audiophiles buy subs then? I thought the hard core audiophile wouldn't trust third party amplification for any part of their playback frequency range....
