NY Times "The Daily" Podcast no longer streams from LMS

I've been listening to the NY Times excellent daily podcast "The Daily" for months on my Squeezebox Touch, SB radios and pCP player. Unfortunately as of last week, LMS can no longer stream it. pCP player returns the error message: "Connect timed out: Bad file descriptor".

I've double-checked the podcast's RSS link on non-LMS players and they play without any problem. Would be grateful for any insight.

The Daily works fine for me, I just listened to the latest one this morning. I have had that error before with other podcasts and the only solution for me was restarting LMS.

I don't know why it happens, or if that's the ideal solution, but it worked for me.

The podcast use https and not http - so you must be on the latest version of LMS and possibly need to install a Perl module.
What version of LMS are you using ?

You may also need to change a few settings after updating.

I'm running the latest version of 7.91 on Windows 10. I've tried restarting the server but no luck. Perl module?

All modules are installed with Windows.

Try using using "proxied" setting for the player - WebUI Setting/Player/Audio/Streaming method set to "proxied streaming" - an SB radio cannot play https direct - "proxied" means LMS will make https connection to podcast server

Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately proxied streaming setting had no effect whatsoever (tested on both SB Radio and pCP players). Returns same error message. How the heck are some able to successfully stream this podcast with LMS and I cannot? Other settings? Running LMS on non-Windows platform?

AFAIK the https issue for simple things like podcast has been resolved. So it must be something in your setup.

Send MHerger a PM - he may be able to give better suggestions.

The podcast is working fine on my Windows. Please enable logging for
player.source, try again, then upload your server.log file here (there's
a link to get a zip version of it).

Thanks for the help Michael! Zipped server log uploaded.

Btw, I listen to about 10 other podcasts regularly from NPR, Crooked Media and other sources. The Daily is the only one that exhibits the problem.

    server.log.zip

Note: MY LMS Server is named "Ubuntu", but it is actually on Windows 10.

I checked that podcast once again, this time on Windows 10. And indeed,
it fails to play. I have no idea where to start the investigation :-(.
