    TIDAL on the Touch

    dear all
maybe you have already spoken about this topic but what i would ask to you is if using the official app into the squeezebox touch (not using the external computer with LMS) is possible to listen tracks from TIDAL in master quality.
    Please let me know
    best regards

LMS/SB only supports CD quality flac streams.

Indeed it does, thank you Michael.

@alberto75 here's the Tidal app streaming a Masters track in the same variable bit rate FLAC as the non-Masters version of the same track:

I don't expect the plugin to support Tidal Masters software decoding or bit perfect passthrough Ś and I can certainly live without them Ś but we can always dream.

It is funny I was so used to using LMS since I was playing songs from my hard drive. For the last year, I only stream Tidal HIFI and just tried to see if it was in fact FLAC from SBT's Tidal app. Yep, FLAC.

Now, LMS server via Macbook is off and playing from SBT Tidal app. It maybe psychological but I find the music sounding more musical. Why would be a difference? Maybe I am just thinking it sounds better.

Yeah, I even take myself with a grain of salt unless I do blind test and do it like 10-20 times. Otherwise, my mind play games with me making me believe the change was worthwhile
