It sounds you had the QLMS upgrade to trigger an upgrade of LMS to 8.0. That happened to me and I got similar problem like you describe.

You can try to start in failsafe mode manually, that will probably work. If it does it means that you have some plugins that don’t run with LMS 8.0.

You can downgrade to LMS 7.9.3, see a few post up for how to do that (edit the config file).

QLogitechMediaServer for Qnap with QTS 4.2 or higher and x86_64/I686/X86 support !

    Is this USB-Drive visible in /share ?
If not you have to add it.
If so, what happens when you’re selecting it from within LMS?

The discspace error tells you, there is no discspace left, or you are using a encrypt volume.

What's the mounting point, QLogitechMediaServer runs in chroot. So to get everything working in chroot, it's mounting everything under /share to a chroot file systeem. So do mount and look in the output where is mounted?

When you have inserted the USB stick, and shows up. Stop and restart QLogitechMediaServer, and then you should be able to see it in LMS.

    Hi ,

    Thanks for your reply.
I have 1Tb of available space on that mount point, and no encryption, so the problem must be other than that.

The only way to start the Media Server was to install the version 2.03.21 (7.9.3-1586752599 of LogitechMediaServer). I installed it manually and for now I've disable the updates.

    Thanks

And remember, some times can take some time.

Also remember on startup LMS also does a lot of things, depending a bit on how many plugin's are installed.
Give it some time, it will never be ready on startup, can take a few minuts.
The same is for ./QLogitechMediaServer.sh config, it need to fetch serveral info by running command and wait on the output.

This output can also be found in /share/*/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer/QLogitechMediaServer.log.config !

If there is something wrong, there will be a file called QLogitechMediaServer.log.err with info regarding the error inside.

Also a good check is, QLogitechMediaServer.sh status, it will show if LMS is running or not !

On investigation, the output you give.

    I noticed,

    The [/share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer] is properly Mounted!
    A error occurred on [/share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer] !

The last line is from the space check in config, the error could be that there is no space left on the share.
Please check if there is enough harddisc space.
    Hi digimaster

I try to re-install again. After removing old version, I install 2.20.00 from QnapClub repository.

It gets stuck in the middle of installation. The QNAP web console

Size: 55.5 KB

df -m shows that there are more than 900MB free on disk, but disk space problem info found in log QLogitechMediaServer.log.org.

    DiscSpace : A error occured, please check [\e[101m/share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer] !

    no QLogitechMediaServer.log.err an file found.

./QLogitechMediaServer.sh config shows same thing as ./QLogitechMediaServer.log.org file

./QLogitechMediaServer.sh restart shows same thing as ./QLogitechMediaServer.log file and then hangs there.

And it tried to use logitechmediaserver-8.0.0-1587444734.tgz. An old version.

Disk space is more than 900MB.

    Any suggestion is appreciated.
