New install M1 Mac with music on external drive - empty scan

Hi all, long story so I'll get to where I'm at...

I've installed 8.3.0 onto my new M1 Mac with Monterey.

localhost opens up, setting are available and I'm able to use radio and apps like BBC and Soma functionality. However...

All of my tunes are all on an external drive. I point to them on the Library tab and then try to rescan it does so and medially comes back as showing zero on the library stats on the Status tab.

Scanner logs says - "Error scanning file or folder: CORRECT PATH: Operation not permitted"

I've been trying to get it working for months with no joy. Any help would be appreciated. Would it be helpful to attach any logs, etc.?

    Thanks for looking in.

You'll have to grant LMS (or rather: Perl) full disk access. There are
several threads about this. As for the Perl binary to put on the allow
list: what Perl version is reported in Settings/Information? If it's
    5.34, then you should use
    /Library/PreferencePanes/Squeezebox.prefPane/Contents/perl/bin/perl.

Ahh, OK. I'll have a read on the subject. I don't really understand it all at the moment. I appreciate the reply. Thanks.

    Thank you.

I've just checked and I'm running 5.30.3 so I'll be upgrading!

    Update...

I think I may have had it partially working all along.

I changed the LMS server to locate the standard drive inside my Mac and it works fine!

The issue is that I can't get it to recognise the external drive.

Make sense? Maybe I need to let it have access to that somehow?

When I go into the online settings, it lets me get as far as seeing the drive and I can select it by name. However, it's not possible for me to click on to find the actual folders I need and a scan comes back with no content.

    All sorted!

Read this page and it had instructions to drag Perl5.18 into Full Disk Access

    Thank you.
