    Squeezelite

    I'd like to have a squeezelite running inside of QNAP for bringing the music to it's 3.5 mm speaker jack. Installing the 'Local Player' plugin from triode does not solve the problem.
    I had built a docker image from aschamberger/squeezelite but I don't know how to adress the output device.

    Is there a way to implement squeezelite in your QLMS?

    What happened when you tried "Local Player" plugin?
    It uses Squeezelite (perhaps an old one).
    Did Squeezelite run? If yes - did it give any errors?

    Can you run Squeezelite by hand on your NAS?

    No, it does not run. The Box is clicked, but it shows Not Running (squeezelite-x86-64)

    No

    It might help to diagnose the problem.
    For example - it might be the wrong architecture (e.g. ARM version).

    @ Pual Webster - FWIW I got the same response when I installed Local Player on my QNAP HS453-DX NAS running QLMS the other day. Admittedly I installed the local player plugin for the wrong reason, but I did spend about 30 minutes trying to get it to at least run in QLMS and was unable to. The box was ticked and it just had '(Not Running)' next to it. Reboots of NAS, restarts of QLMS, etc, did not help...

    Docker for Squeezelite

    Docker does it: with aschamberger/squeezelite where OUTPUT_DEVICE = default gives me a running squeezelite-1.9.1.1137-x86_64 with sound at the 3.5 jack

    I updated to the latest QLMS version hoping it would update LMS to 8.0.0. It did, but it brought along problems.

    For whatever reason, it's now running on Perl 5.24.4 and Audio::Scan: 0.95 (instead of 5.28 and 1.02). Anyone else seeing this?

    I completely reinstalled QLMS, now it's back to Perl 5.28 and Audio::Scan 1.02. And back to 7.9.3. I don't know why yesterday it updated to 8.0.0 and now it's not.

    Mine doesn┤t update to 8.0 either. No matter what settings i chose for the .QLMS.conf. Then I found the info somewhere here to put a

    NIGHTLY=8.0.0 instead of "1" into the .QLMS.conf.

    Then it did update to 8.0.0 - 1580340675 successfully.
    System still shows correct
    Perl-Version: 5.28.2 - x86_64-linux-thread-multi
    Audio::Scan: 1.02
    IO::Socket::SSL: 2.060

    It┤s running a full scan now. This will last for a while. We will see what happens then...
