    There are nice mobile apps.

I certainly can't :-). It's the kind of question which often leads to
religious wars. I don't even want to get started...

Playing SD card with LMS as controller

    Hello.

I use a SB Touch as a transporter (coaxial out) to my DAC and I realized that playing files straight from SD Card or USB Pendrive in SBT inputs sounds fair better than playing from my notebook lybrary (wifi).
However, instead of using the remote control, I wanna use the Logitech Media Server interface for this, but I'm not getting... The Player USB appears in LMS "Choose Player" options, but clicking on it nothing happens. How should I do?

The built-in server (aka. TinySBS at the time) doesn't provide the web UI.

        Thanks, Michael.

There is any other way to control the SBT server from the computer? The navigation using the remote control is kind of boring...

BTW, could anyone explain why an audio file played directly from SBT slot (SD Card/USB pendrive) sounds much better than the same audio file running from the notebook's library via Wifi?? It gives a final and special touch in the sound, clean and puts everything in place.

I like the squeezer app for controlling LMS (android).

Assuming all things are equal (the file *is* the same, the player settings are the same, you have identical volume levels all the way through the chain and no recompression happening) then there's no logical reason why it would sound different at all. The SBT even buffers more than 30s ahead even when playing from WiFi so WiFi isn't even active while you listen from the memory buffer. If it sounds repeatedly different then some setting is different. And remember to rule out your biased brain when listening.. humans are actually rubbish at being objective.

Yes you can use the LMS web interface to control your Touch when playing files from an attached SD card or USB stick.

I put a handful of Christmas albums on an SD card put it in the Touch's slot and rebooted, TinySBS scans the card.

LMS > Settings > Plugins > install the "Remote Music Libraries" plugin.
