    If exist /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer/.config/LMSROOT/etc/localtime,
    you should remove it.
    Logon to ssh do
    [ cd /share/*/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer ]
    [ rm -R .config/LMSROOT/etc/localtime ]
    [ ./QLogitechMediaServer.sh restart ]
Wait until it's started, then it should be fixed !

If then the problem still remains, then its something else i'm afraid.

Just run a test here, the localtime, is removed by the script itself.
So should not be found anymore in LMSROOT/etc/.
So check if it there ?

I am wondering how to update to the newer version without uninstall and reinstall the LogitechMediaServer?

If you have installed tho older version, through the Qnap app center in the app store from Qnap Club.
    Just use the update button.

If you have installed it manually through the QNap app center.
Download the right version, and install it through the app center.
The app center will see it as a update, and install it like a update.

Best suggested way is, add QNap club store to the app center, and install it from there.
Then you always get a notification, and updating is easy.
And you cab also add other interesting stuff from the Q|Nap Club store.

Oke strange but looks like it has nothing to do, with QLogitechMediaServer because the only thing which could do it was localtime.
Curious what it could be, hope Michael knows a solution.
    |Thank for letting me know. ;-)

Strange hat no trouble on this side. Showed the update, and could do the upgraded. So why it's not working at you're end, have no idea.

No need to uninstall any old lms installations, from version 2.00.00, can be installed beside any other lms or perl installations.

    @digimaster:

Did you change the standard plugins when installing LMS? What I mean is, would the plugins and their activation status' be the same as with a normal LMS setup or did you preactivate some? In other words, are any 3rd party plugins added and activated in the installation process?

And also: Do the not beta versions also copy settings and things like the beta does to the regular release when installing (Installing beta: copying data from LogitechMediaServer to QLMS)?

    What I mean is:

Installation of not beta: Is data copied from QLMS to LogitechMediaServer?

To give some context, Michael suggested there were third party plugins active when I tested something, but it was a clean installation - except you did something here.
    QLMS 8.0.0@2.10.06 x64 (digimaster) with perl 5.28 dedicated to me. :D / QNAP 469L QTS 4.3.4
