Absolutely agree Joe - was just answering the question.
Yeah, but beta testers of the product started to see these failures back in 2010/2011 after two-three years of use. So relatively pleased mine lasted 11 years or so, I obviously started preparing for the failure for some years now - as well as the foam surrounds purchased in 2015, I have a new in box pair of Faital Pros (2018) and a new in box pair of Logitech 170089's snapped up when some appeared on eBay, also in 2018.
Just ordered some more foams as well, I have many more speakers to keep in top shape!!

Possibly, some forum members managed to fit Dayton Audio ND91-4 with some modifications to the case and speakers

Hi Joe,
Just wondering if you knew what the DC voice coil resistance of the genuine logitech woofer ?
I see that the FaitalPRO-3FE25-3 drivers are back in stock at Parts Express. There are 4 ohm or 8 ohm versions available, so just wondering which is better suited.
thanks

Sure, I just measured 3.7Ω on one of the originals, close enough to 4Ω.
PN me if your Boom / Classic / Transporter display has issues!

With Joe's update to let us know about 4 ohm I would think this should work.

Some may remember that I ordered some replacement drivers fro Ali-Express ?
Well they turned out to be nill stock and I got my money refunded.
Luckily parts express had the FaitalPRO drivers back in stock, so I ordered a couple of those.
After a bit of modifying, they fitted great !
They sounded very average.......... until they were "run in" for about 20 hours, then they sounded just like the old ones !!!
I have the bass set at +10 and the treble set at +2
I have ordered new rubber surrounds and will give that a try.

Hi,
I ordered new foam rings and glue from speakerrepairshop.nl to my second sb boom. The sound is exactly the same as my other one after repair, i recomend that use glue on both contact surfaces and wait a couple of minutes before gluing them together.
