Same here, but the other way around. It started after a recent update (say last three months).
Due to other problems I re-installed 7.9.0 and now it seems to work fine again.

I know this is in no way a solution, but at least you know now you're not alone...

Good point and it was my first suspicion. Currenty testing the Alexa Plugin for Squeezebox... and it currently doesn't work with password protected LMS. I'm gonna bring this up with the team involved.

I've noticed my 2 squeezeboxes come on randomly twice in the past 3 months. But the interface changing... it's fairly regular...

Ronald I agree in that it only started happening to me too in the past 3 months... but... that's when I turned off the password on my LMS (which by the way has port forwarding to the internet). I turned off the password because I got an Echo Hub and the Alexa plugin for Squeezebox (currently) requires you to disable your LMS password :-(

Easier solution. Close the port on your router.

VPN tunnel . I use open vpn the play LMS in my car with iPeng ( iOS ) .

VPN is the only option . The password protection in LMS is not really any security , people are as easily atacked with or without it.

Read the linked tread , LMS was/is not really designed to operate against internet you simply should not have open ports .

I do think OpenVPN exist for android, you only have to have a router that supports open vpn or similar or set up a vpn server some other way .

VPN or SSH tunnelling. An open port would allow anyone on the internet
to install a plugin on your server. This plugin could potentially
install malware etc. You really don't want to leave the ports open.

    Yes it definately does.

I use openvpn on Android, Ios and also Pcp (both LMS and Squeezelite in various combinations ) all work fine and keep proper security.

    Want a webapp ? Get SqueezeLite-X ! https://forums.slimdevices.com/showt...l=1#post903953
