using nice to lower cpu usage

The Slim server should not run continuously at high CPU. It might spike the
CPU for certain periods of time when it is rescanning the library.

Hopefully 6.0 Slimserver addresses some of these performance issues. Once
the database is scanned in it should not require a lot of CPU work to keep
it up to date or to access the information in it (depending of course on the
    size of your library).

    Can I turn this off?

I see cpu usage go to about 4-5% (athlon xp 2500+), about once every
minute or even more often. Is it checking for changes in the filesystem?
